When you build a pool, you’re actually creating a fun and relaxing space for your children and family to spend time together without ever leaving the backyard! You’ll make lasting memories as you teach your kids to swim, play with them in the pool, and barbecue by the water.
Gunite pools use a rebar framework that is sprayed over with a concrete and sand mixture. The method is preferable over a traditional poured concrete pool that requires a wooden framework to hold the shape of the basin. Gunite is exceedingly durable, so swimming pools made of this substance are built to last.
Above Ground Pools
Above-ground pools come in two basic types: ring and frame. Ring pools, also known as “float to fill,” are commonly around 12 feet in diameter and 3 feet high. Made of heavy-duty vinyl, they get their name from an inflatable ring at the top of the pool, which rises as the pool fills with water and lifts the sidewalls into place.
With the temps constantly in the 80+ range during May, algae has plenty of time to grow on the walls, thus meaning that when the pool does finally get opened, it can be very difficult to deal with. Water may be filthy and dirty, but within a couple of days and after shocking it and vacuuming it a few times, she’s as good as gold, and the water is now beautiful.
Closing your pool for the season and performing an inspection allows you to assess any damage that may have occurred during the summer months, and then address these problems in a timely manner. By closing the pool, you essentially minimize the risk created by harsh winter conditions that often result in cracking.
You've done your diligent pool owner duties by maintaining your pool, cleaning it and ensuring a chemical balance every week to keep it in pristine shape.
Swimming pools, regardless of the materials used, are vulnerable to different forms of leaks. Before you start panicking and looking for leaks, just remember that one of the most common reasons for water loss is splashing. Evaporation can also lower the pool levels by ¼ to 1 inch daily depending on the location.
Pool removal typically involves draining the pool, drilling holes in the bottom, demolishing the top, and filling the pool with the rubble and additional dirt soil. However, above ground pool removal is less complicated, involving just draining the pool, tearing it down, and hauling it away.
Establish a weekly routine to clean the pool and maintain the chemical balance. A shock treatment solves and prevents the majority of pool problems. Test the pH and free available chlorine in the pool water and shock-treat, if necessary, on a weekly basis.
You paid a lot of money for your pool, spa or fountain, and a leak is an unnecessary expense you shouldn’t have to deal with.
Semi Ground Pools
These pools can be installed fully aboveground, fully inground, and any depth in-between. They can also be installed on any slope without need of an additional costly retaining wall.
